East Fork Workshop

The Pitcher

After seven years away from the potter's wheel, our co-founder and former CFO John Vigeland has returned to make a limited run of pitchers imbued with tradition for the East Fork Workshop.

A Founding Potter

John Vigeland, our co-founder and former CFO, helped shape our journey from the early days—back when he and our CEO Alex Matisse were still firing pottery on an old tobacco farm in the backwoods of Western North Carolina.

A Note From the Artist

One afternoon in the late summer of 2018, I throw what would be my last pot for seven years. I chose these pitchers because I've always loved their form, and they're really hard to make well. I figured I should get over my insecurities about whether or not I remembered how to throw by diving in deep.”

The East Fork Workshop is where the work of wheel-thrown makers meet East Fork’s technical know-how. It’s our way of staying connected to the early days, when every pot started on the wheel.
