Each year, East Fork partners with multiple organizations working to build equity and spread liberation in our community. Since 2017, we’ve raised over $1.7 million for grassroots, community-led initiatives.
Generosity has been a driving force at East Fork since our founders first gathered around a wood stove, dreaming up what this company could become.
You can clearly see this value in action through the relationships we nurture between our Community Partners, our team, and our customers. Over the years, this work has taken many forms, but it’s always been rooted in two goals: amplifying our partners’ missions and raising unrestricted funds to help them carry that work forward.
Since 2017, we’ve raised over $1.7 million for grassroots, community-led organizations—and 2024 was our biggest year yet, with $640,000 raised. We’re continuing that momentum by donating 1% of all sales (not profits) directly to our Community Partners. We also make it easy for customers to contribute through a simple in-cart donation at checkout.
We believe in giving without conditions. That means trusting local leaders to invest in their communities as they see fit—no strings attached, just direct support where it’s needed most. Together, we’re working toward a more joyful and equitable world.
For July, August, and September, we are partnering with...

Operation Gateway
Operation Gateway (OG) is on a mission to decrease recidivism by addressing the social determinants of health of returning citizens. They support people returning home from prison across Western North Carolina. They help people find housing, access medical care, reconnect with family and build the essential skills often taken for granted by folks facing fewer barriers to societal entry (or, in this case, reentry). OG is a team of change agents with strong relationships and a clear-eyed view of what is needed by those who have been impacted by American prison systems.
Past 2025 Partners

Rural Organizing and Resilience (ROAR)
When Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina, it was grassroots groups like ROAR who mobilized first—coordinating supplies, wellness checks, and financial aid before outside help could arrive. Based in Madison County, ROAR has been organizing since 2017 to meet immediate needs while building long-term community power. Their work spans mutual aid programs like free firewood distribution, seed libraries, and fruit tree giveaways, all aimed at local self-determination. They also foster culture-driven solidarity through events like Honky Tonk Not Hate, raising funds for rural justice groups. ROAR’s work is rooted in place, care, and collective action—ensuring rural communities aren’t just recovering, but reimagining what’s possible.

Swannanoa Communities Together
Swannanoa Communities Together (SCT) brings people together in the Swannanoa Valley to support each other in meeting needs and accessing resources. They are community-led and prioritize those facing systemic barriers and marginalization. SCT listens, learns, adapts, and responds to community voices, ensuring everyone has a say in shaping Swannanoa's future.
